One Year of Restiq Sleep: Building More Than a Mattress Brand
A year ago, Restiq Sleep was just an idea — one built on belief, frustration, ambition, and a deep understanding that rest is not a luxury, but a necessity.
Today, Restiq Sleep turns one.
For many businesses, one year may seem small. But for us, this year represents thousands of lessons, difficult decisions, long nights, early mornings, risks taken, promises kept, and a vision that refused to stay on paper.
Restiq Sleep was born from experience. Before the brand officially existed, the journey had already begun years earlier through hands-on exposure to the bedding industry, customer service, manufacturing, branding, logistics, and entrepreneurship itself. Restiq was created with one goal in mind: to build a sleep brand that felt intentional, design-led, customer-focused, and proudly South African.
From the beginning, we knew we did not want to simply sell beds.
We wanted to build a brand that people could emotionally connect with. A brand that understood that rest affects how people work, think, create, recover, and live. Whether it is a student preparing for exams, a young professional building a career, a family creating a home, or a business furnishing accommodation — quality rest matters.
That belief became our foundation.
From Humble Beginnings to a Growing Brand
Like many startups, Restiq Sleep did not begin with unlimited resources or a large team. The early days were built on consistency, reinvestment, and faith in the process.
Every delivery mattered.

There were days when operations were difficult, when growth felt slow, and when the pressure of building something meaningful became overwhelming. But through it all, the mission stayed the same: create a product and experience we could genuinely be proud of.
Over the past year, Restiq Sleep has grown into more than just a mattress company. We have become a growing sleep solutions brand serving customers across Gauteng and beyond, while also beginning to position ourselves within commercial and institutional spaces such as student accommodation and hospitality.
We launched new designs.
We refined our product quality.
We started building our manufacturing capabilities.
We strengthened our branding.
And most importantly, we earned trust.
